Bi-metal clad/lined pipes
1/2
Bi-metal/mechanically clad pipes, a very good alternative to the metallurgically clad pipes, have been proved efficient and reliable; and last but not least, from the economical point of view the costs, compared to an homogeneous pipe, can be reduced up to more than 55% ! In addition to this, also the expenses for installation and welding can be considerably reduced up to 25% !
Carbon steel or high yield strength steels are used as outer pipes :
API 5L grades: X45 – X52 – X60 – X65 – X70
EEMUA grades: EP360 – EP415 – EP450 – EP485
DNV grades: 360Mpa – 415Mpa- 450Mpa – 485Mpa
Corrosion resistance liner pipes can be, but not limited to:
Stainless steels 300 series: 304L, 316L, 317L
Superaustenitic alloys: 6Mo, 254 SMO, 904L
Nickel alloys: monel@ 400, inconel@ 625 and incoloy@ 825
Liner pipes wall thickness is typically in the range 1,5-3 mm (different w.t upon agreement)Gieminox range for clad/lined pipes
from 2 up to 12 meter length without circumferential seams
from 4” up to 36” outer pipe dimensions
from 10 up tp 35 mm wall thickness of the outer pipe
Determination of gripping force by push-out testBi-axial strain gauges placement on residual compressive stress test as per API 5LD.
Bi-metal / mechanically clad pipes are manufactured by Gieminox using our own designed and developed manufacturing process. br> A firm residual contact pressure is achieved by elastic and plastic behaviors of the outer pipe and inner pipe resulting to conform to international standards namely API 5LD and DNV OS-F101.
